Preface - June 2001.
As fans of Ghostbusters or *Ghostheads as we call each other, a bunch of you may remember me as “Paranorman” within the GB community, especially under the message boards’ heading of custom prop making. The following drawings were the first plans to be released on the internet, from the guy that started building prop packs since 1984. These reader friendly pages will depict what material I use and where to buy it, how I built my gadgets and I will show you a couple of acceptable alternatives that you can use or built if you cannot find those parts. I have also included a couple of links that you may be able to purchase actual parts, custom made, and/or resin reproductions from fellow artisans.
1. My June 2001 drawings are my latest, please get rid of all older versions. First released in 1996, a.k.a the Home Depot pack.
2. The dimensions are based on the films’ Proton Packs. My measurements were generated by using the actual props that are in display at some of the Planet Hollywood restaurants and by calculating the scale via utilizing the same components that were used on the original props.
3. Depending on your construction technique and subtractive process resulting from your cuts, saw kerfs, sanding, etc., you may gain or loose fractions of an inch on each components.
4. My current drawings are just “guides”, below is a diagram of a suggested method on how to built and mount your components:
