Discuss Ghostbusters: Afterlife, released on November 19, 2021 and directed by Jason Reitman.

Had me worried but he does talk about them when prompted at the end so that's good.

I can't tell how old the gentleman is working the Ghostbusters booth in the videos but it makes me feel old that he is probably younger than Extreme Ghostbusters.

They actually do creative cool but toyish things with the old stuff in the movie (because, well they are kids at the end of the day). Saw something, but not much.
However, it's not Impossible the Hasbro kids stuff is indeed influenced by what happens in the story.
Like attaching a ghost trap to a radio controlled car?

I wondered about that myself. Someone here suggested he could be part of the video footage the kids see from the crossrip. I hope it's just that and in-world product like the set design suggested with the Stay Puft marshmallow ad painted on old building.
That was me. Go to the :37 second mark here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aW8oyTgA60

Wouldn't it be cool to see the video footage taken from this perspective in Ghostbusters: Afterlife? They may need to use CGI for it, but so what? I think that would be a neat callback to the original film, while still feeling unique and important to Mr. Grooberson telling the kids about the Manhattan Crossrip of '84.

That's the best hypothesis I've heard so far! And you're right -- the footage from that camera man's angle would be insane to see.

And even if it is CGI, that would be masked a little by being shown as old video tape footage uploaded to the internet. Kind of like how Tron:Legacy used the television footage in the opening to conceal the digital work they did on Jeff Bridges.

Yeah, it wouldn't be so "in-your-face" if it appeared as a video clip on a computer screen with cuts to the reactions of the kids watching the footage.

I believe it.

Look at the box art of the Stay Puft figure from NYTF that has the torso that spins around. There’s a mini Puft there.

Also remember the reveal of the marshmallows that got taken down the same day? The mini marshmallows had the same mini Puft design as that box art I mentioned. That’s my guess why it was taken down so fast because it was a small spoiler.

Yes, like that.

This is a very ridicuolus situation. Now everyone of you can openly speculate about that but not me. Not fair :walterpeck:

I can read between the lines... you're from a western suburb of Berlin that is fond of dance.

JonXCTrack wrote: February 26th, 2020, 9:30 am You know, the more I think about it, the Shandor mine contains materials that presumably were used to construct Gozer's temple. If a similar temple exists in Oklahoma, maybe the new big bad (Gozer or otherwise) is defeated because Muncher eats the metal that this other temple is made out of?

"So we had Jason Reitman come by the stand yesterday... the director of the new movie. And then we had a chat to him... he wants us to do quite a big sculpt... what we're thinking of doing at this stage is a big Proton Pack, with all the little Stay Pufts running around on it, trying to destroy it."

Lends a lot of credence to the mini Stay Pufts theory.

I can't read this and not think of the mini-pufts from that crazy "deviations" Ghostbusters one shot a couple of years back.

Know what's funny? After literally decades of waiting for this movie, and my excitement at being such a peak... I'm oddly not posting on here that often. I dunno if I don't want to be spoiled, or if I'm spending more time on Facebook discussions nowadays... but I almost feel guilty lol.

Lots of really cool theories and stuff coming up since NYTF though!
