--Oh. No, it was totally, uh, because of the 35th anniversary for both Transformers and Ghostbusters. They had decided to do a toy and these things take so long. The toy was in the works, yeah, year and a half--maybe two years ago. And, um, that's how long it takes them to design and--and tool the molds and make everything work to mass produce these toys. Uh, so it was in the works for a long time and as we got closer, they said, "Hey, why don't you do a comic? Because IDW has Transformers and IDW has Ghostbusters. And it's the 35th anniversary. It would some thing fun. Let's do a story."

-"And um, other---other ghosts, uh, from the Transformers side will show up later on."

With this, in addition to Wynonna Earp greenlighted for a fourth season for IDW Entertainment (their TV/Film division), I look fowrard to seeing IDW forging it's path for it's future for the next 20 years. ^_^

That's most impressive; both of these crossover minis may have boosted and expanded GB's fanbase and visibility. ^_^

Peter Venkman Jr. wrote: July 15th, 2019, 4:18 pm Looking forward to reading this, I don't quite know how this happened but every time Ecto-tron speaks in the comic book I heard voice actor Rob Paulsen as Ecto-tron's voice in my head.
Dan Schoening mentioned on Twitter that while designing Ectotron, he heard the voice of David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier).

Ha! Sorry! I didn't have much to say about this one - I guess the action all being in one location and my not really understanding the Transformers back-story kept me on the sidelines!

We should have these numbers pinned on a board somewhere for when anyone asks why they keep doing crossovers!

Not into the Transformers growing up, so I know next to nothing about the franchise, aside from Optimus Prime. That said, I'm enjoying this so far. My sister's boyfriend, who learned English by watching the '84 cartoon (grew up in Israel), is enjoying this too.

That was much more like it for me - I guess mainly because it leant harder on the characters of the Ghostbusters, which is always my favourite bit of Erik's writing. Venkman in particular was on rare form in this one, I do love how this series has him just as smart as the others when the need calls for it. It feels very true to Bill Murray's original portrayal.

As for the missing Easter Eggs, I've not idea I'm afraid, apart from:

And if anyone was still wondering about those 2 dead Decepticons in #2, they were Straxus and Crosscut from Marvel Comics' Transformers #18 (March 1986). Deep cut.

And in #1, the doors on the Temple of Gozer were lifted from the Transformers' episode "Madman's Paradise" - the ancient art that activates the portal to Menonia.

She does both now, keeps her desk in the Firehouse, and gets paid more. That was the deal she made with Peck.
Well, I won't be surprised if she ends up becoming the CEO of the company someday. She's smart and a tough cookie.

Glad that I won't have to wait long for issue #4 to arrive in September. I am really enjoying this crossover, Janine coming up with the name Ectotron is a really inspired bit of writing along with Egon not believing in aliens. I am glad that Optimus Prime showed up in issue #3 as well, his interactions with Janine and the Ghostbusters was the stuff of childhood dreams.
