For a collectible it looks a bit too cheap and plasticky, for a toy it's too expensive for what it offers. But that's just my first impression.

I canceled mine. Doesn't really look like the kind of thing I want on display. Maybe for $25, but certainly not for $50.

Checked out my local Wal Mart the other day, they had the 2020 Kenner Classics Real Ghostbusters action figures on the pegs again. Hope that anyone that missed out on them or would like a second set gets their chance this time. Also, for anyone that's interested the newer version of Ectotron has begun to show up at Target stores as well. More about him here:https://www.allspark.com/2021/01/target ... us-retail/

I agree. We went through a lack of merchandise throughout the 90's and 00's, but there has been a degree of saturation over the last decade and fans are maybe a little more discerning. I am ready to throw down for an Ecto, ideally in the Hot Wheels Elite price range as the Eaglemoss is way out of my budget and storage capacity... but I found both the Lego Ecto-1 and Hasbro Ecto-1 lacking in one form or another. The first is odd proportions, bulky and lacking in detail, the latter lacks metallic elements and features sausage antennae. I'd have paid double the current RRP if the detail and materials were a little more authentic / premium.

I'm going to hold out for another 1:18 Ecto in the next 3-4 years.
Ideally I'd prefer a Real GB Ecto like Chronicle displayed, but with clear plastic/metallics, file that one under "never gonna happen".

Chicken, He Clucked wrote: November 20th, 2020, 9:30 am I'd personally love for them to try a Plasma series run at the Real Ghostbusters figures - because the DS ones are overpriced now and weren't the best sculpts. Hopefully the scarcity of those figures shows Hasbro there is demand. Although equally I'd love a full Fright Features set.
Do we know how far the license extends to? Does Hasbro have the rights to potentially do stuff from RGB (outside of the RBG re-releases), EGB, or the 2016 movie?

Did Mattel do anything with RGB when they had the line? I have a feeling they did a set of the standard main 4 GBs sculpts in a RGB repaint. But I could either be misremembering or confusing it with a custom someone did online.

Must've been a custom. Mattel didn't offer any RGB toys while they had the license.

I did some looking after I posted. It was a custom. The only RGB they did were those Retro Action figures.

Oh, wow, good catch. I totally forgot those were Mattel. I mentally filed them away with Mego.

As broccoli mentioned, they did do a series of "Retro Action" RGB figures, a line of Mego-like figures. Unlike every other RGB line in recent years they even managed to get a Janine figure (packaged with a Samhain, a Slimer, and a cardboard Firehouse facade).

Wal Mart .com says that all Ghost Popper orders will ship on January 5th.
I got an email yesterday stating they won't ship until the 21st now.

I got that same email. Apparently the Kenner Classics are ringing up $4 each on clearance at some Walmarts. Stock up if that's the case for you. That's how I scored the second wave of Star Wars retro figs

Good review. Still undecided.
If Hasbro would go ahead and announce a 3-3/4 line, this thing would be so much better received. I'm looking forward to getting it either way. Cant have too many Ecto's.

Walmart website says Ghost Poppers are available at my local Wal-mart. Didn't think they'd be out this soon. Checked YouTube and one person has a video up of their Ghost Popper. Any one get theirs yet?

So it seems there are two variants of the Hasbro Plasma Series Ecto 1

One is as advertised - with major discolouring / the black paintwork gradient on the bonnet:

The other has much milder discolouration of the bonnet and honestly looks a lot better and more accurate to what we've seen from the movie.

I'm wondering if the "variant" (I've seen a photo of one of these) is not actually a variant, but a production mistake... A missed step in the paint application by a worker at the plant in China.

Thanks for sorting out the code @Kingpin. The second video has slipped into the void so I'll post it here, courtesy of YHS, shows the milder paintwork production error or variance:

As people begin posting their Ecto-1 hauls I'm seeing more grilled than the charbroiled. Production error or not it's been a welcome mistake. I've got both from the same case, so who knows.

Apologies, I removed it because I thought it was the same video that'd been posted twice.

Interesting. They say the expected release is January 2021 for wave 2. I'm guessing that is an error.

Yep, got to be an error. Made sense had the movie opened in March.

You are not the only one. Everyone that ordered one in my group got a cancellation. However, I did not. As of 15 minutes ago, mine was cancelled as well. Apparently its available at the Walmart near me so I paid for it and will pick it up later. Watch, they screw that up too.
