-Toys were being made 1.5-2 years before there was a comic considered --Oh. No, it was totally, uh, because of the 35th anniversary for both Transformers and Ghostbusters. They had decided to do a toy and these things take so long. The toy was in the works, yeah, year and a half--maybe two years ago. And, um, that's how long it takes them to design and--and tool the molds and make everything work to mass produce these toys. Uh, so it was in the works for a long time and as we got closer, they said, "Hey, why don't you do a comic? Because IDW has Transformers and IDW has Ghostbusters. And it's the 35th anniversary. It would some thing fun. Let's do a story."
-"And um, other---other ghosts, uh, from the Transformers side will show up later on."

With this, in addition to Wynonna Earp greenlighted for a fourth season for IDW Entertainment (their TV/Film division), I look fowrard to seeing IDW forging it's path for it's future for the next 20 years. ^_^
Looking forward to reading this, I don't quite know how this happened but every time Ecto-tron speaks in the comic book I heard voice actor Rob Paulsen as Ecto-tron's voice in my head.

June sales are out and TF/GB #1 sold 17,575 units. What's impressive about that is it beats the 16,716 units sold for the first issue of the ongoing GB series and is only 2nd to TMNT/GB Vol. 1 #1 in overall top sales, it being 21, 223 units. https://www.comichron.com/monthlycomics ... 19-06.html

That's most impressive; both of these crossover minis may have boosted and expanded GB's fanbase and visibility. ^_^

TRANSFORMERS/GHOSTBUSTERS #2
Main story
Yes, amusing yet logical that the Ghostbusters aren't too flustered by the big talking alien robot. heh heh. I didn't think Eck would be as impulsive to shoot the Trap holding Starscream but I'm surprised Ray or Egon didn't think to offer to release him in controlled conditions like the Paranormal Research Containment Tank Slimer is in or in the Warehouse's cube area. Starscream was Starscream. lmao. His reaction to being called untrustworthy was amusing. And I'm with Winston, not trusting this guy at all. I'll bet Egon is telling himself they're from a parallel universe and they aren't aliens. lol.
And I guess we glimpse the big bad, Red Wiz-- er Kremzeek. No doubt he will show up on Earth in Issue #4 or 5 with Ghost Megatron, sprites, and any other ghost Decepticons. More likely than not, it appears the goal is to steal the Matrix of Leadership/Allspark from Optimus Prime. Whether Starscream is pretending to have escaped from Kremzeek or really did and is just planning to betray everyone later on is another headache they don't need. Though the nagging bit is why thousands of years later to nab the Allspark when they could have appeared in the Ark and made the same plea way sooner? Unless the Ark is somehow shielded and they never could enter it on their own. Best bet was to lure Prime out into neutral territory?
The way they dispersed the Krem-- er sprite was cool. Always a little something new from Erik Burnham. Peter calling it a bean was amusing timed comically well with the trap exploding on him.

Ha! Sorry! I didn't have much to say about this one - I guess the action all being in one location and my not really understanding the Transformers back-story kept me on the sidelines!

Not into the Transformers growing up, so I know next to nothing about the franchise, aside from Optimus Prime. That said, I'm enjoying this so far. My sister's boyfriend, who learned English by watching the '84 cartoon (grew up in Israel), is enjoying this too.
Loved the graffiti-tagged Optimus, complete with 'Venkman Burn In Hell'. Speaking of... Venkman's 'Pessimus' remark had me on the floor laughing

TRANSFORMERS/GHOSTBUSTERS #3
Main Story
The Positives: Loved the jokes in this issue. Like Ectotron sighing when they demand the siren. Or Peter asking what it felt like them riding around inside him. Or the subtle stuff like Wheeljack calling Ectotron off, which is the pot calling kettle black since he's a bit of a crackpot inventor. Or Janine not freaking out about a giant alien robot. Winston and Peter running out the building.
Janine remembered Tron and named Eck, Ectotron? I love it.
Boy, Peter is not doing well against explosive objects lately.
And of course, loved Grimlock cameo.
Hmm, ends on a mystery - how the heck did Starscream escape and where did he go?
The nitpick: I'm on the fence about the pacing. Yes, it's been months since the last multi-issue series and the last stories that came out were one-shots, so -- it's likely comic reader ADD on my part. Or devil's advocate, is 5 issues too much and it's a frustrating wait for what the real threat and bad guy plan is?

That was much more like it for me - I guess mainly because it leant harder on the characters of the Ghostbusters, which is always my favourite bit of Erik's writing. Venkman in particular was on rare form in this one, I do love how this series has him just as smart as the others when the need calls for it. It feels very true to Bill Murray's original portrayal.
As for the missing Easter Eggs, I've not idea I'm afraid, apart from:
I read it as O. Saki, rather than D. Saki, which could make it a callback to the Turtles and Shredder, perhaps? it's a stretch, but...

I think you're totally right because
The Mr. Avery is a nod to James Avery who voiced Shredder in the '87 animated series as well as Killerwatt who the ghost is visually based on later in the issue.

And if anyone was still wondering about those 2 dead Decepticons in #2, they were Straxus and Crosscut from Marvel Comics' Transformers #18 (March 1986). Deep cut.
And in #1, the doors on the Temple of Gozer were lifted from the Transformers' episode "Madman's Paradise" - the ancient art that activates the portal to Menonia.

Is Janine still working as PCOC's liaison's officer? She seems to still do Office Managerial work for the guys.
Glad that I won't have to wait long for issue #4 to arrive in September. I am really enjoying this crossover, Janine coming up with the name Ectotron is a really inspired bit of writing along with Egon not believing in aliens. I am glad that Optimus Prime showed up in issue #3 as well, his interactions with Janine and the Ghostbusters was the stuff of childhood dreams.
