Pack electronics question.

Hello. I'm new to the hobby and I'm trying to and new electronics to my Spirit Halloween proton pack. I'm having a little difficulty I have pack light set that's designed to fit the spirit pack, the sound board sold here, and the wand lights n switch kit sold here. The wand attached to the sound board with the ribbon cable works just fine but the pack lights are doing something strange when I attach it with the ribbon cable. The power cell lights up but doesn't go through the motions it's just a static light and the cyclotron lights dont light up at all. I'm not sure what's up with it, are my settings wrong or is it not enough power because I was just doing a test run with the stock spirit battery pack with the 4 AAs? Any help would be appreciated.
