So doing a massive re-watching of The Real Ghostbusters and just caught in the episode "Egon's Ghost" that when asking for an update on world events, that the invention of "Computer Dating Services" is mentioned.

Damn I had NO idea that was even a thing back in the mid to late 80s. Just something that kinda took me by surprise is all.

Yep, that was the era where every form of matchmaking thrived. Traditional matchmakers, computer dating, personal ads, video dating and even posting on corkboards. It was a crazy time. Computer dating services are what birthed internet dating services. First a computer was used just to keep all the data for matchmakers then folks claimed equations offered scientifically calculated matches that were guaranteed to work out. Now, you have internet dating services using equations (more like weighing preferences) and you do all the matching yourself.
