They did an interview back in January. It was released in 2 parts. https://www.stitcher.com/show/the-derek ... y-81199547 -Buenos are still waiting on word about the U.S. Blu-ray release for Cleanin' Up The Town, speculate Screenbound is timing it to Afterlife so it may release around Halloween/November. -Rick Moranis politely declined to participate in the documentary. (around 40 min. mark)
https://www.stitcher.com/show/the-derek ... y-81199546 -The Real Ghostbusters will be touched on in Too Hot To Handle (around 21 min. mark) -Ray Parker Jr. wouldn't give them the license to use the Ghostbusters song (around 30 min. mark) due him thinking it would be a conflict with his own doc. Didn't want to deal with going through Sony to use Cleanin' Up The Town and eat up too much time going back and forth.
What’s this about an extended cut being released? It’s on the front page of this website. Is that just the regular version vs the broadcast version or are we getting a new cut?
Edit: Also…Could anyone in touch with the filmmakers of the GB2 documentary maybe ask if we can see some footage? Like a short trailer or clip? The GB2 documentary is what I’ve been dying for so I’d love to finally see something to tie us over until this thing gets released. Which could be years from now who knows?

So how exactly does one go about seeing this full version of the documentary? Is it available on the forthcoming DVD?

They've haven't commented on social media about it yet. I suspect it's just the longer version that backers got that's also on the Blu-ray/DVD releases. They did reply earlier they had no prior knowledge about that November U.S. date so they couldn't confirm it yet.

Ah. I see. I have been watching the version available on Crackle and I was puzzled that I saw names of people interviewed that I definitely did not see in the documentary. I remember seeing clips of the Bus Boys performing ”Cleanin’ Up the Town” and realized they were not anywhere to be seen on the Crackle documentary.

Correct. The previous theatrical screenings and Crackle are the theatrical version that is around 1 hour, 40 minutes. Whereas, the digital stream backers got and the Blu-Ray/DVD are 2 hours and 8 minutes. I think this advertised "extended cut" is simply the latter.
Trivia-wise, the first assembly was 5 hours but that was before they split it into two parts but there was a version of Part 1 that was 3 hours during the post production process.

I'm not seeing it on Youtube, but the original doc trailer was half GB2. Some great stuff, too!

Minor update but the Buenos confirmed the 2 hr version will be shown in US theaters on October 1. There will be an official U.S. VOD and Blu-ray / DVD release and they're still working on that digital download for backers. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... ts/3305317

They couldn't get the license to use the Ghostbusters theme song in their Ghostbusters documentaries?!

The videogame nearly didn't have it because of how expensive it was.

There's going to be another round of interviews to connect a few bits, but post is progressing really well! We've unearthed some great stuff, too.
Holy shit that’s cool. This news got covered on freaking Deadline Hollywood! That’s huge!
Honestly? This is one of my most anticipated movies coming up. There’s so much to this movie that is a mystery. So many unseen goodies. This will be probably much bigger in terms of new info and revelations than the terrific first documentary!
I would just like to add that I REALLY enjoyed the animation sequences of the earlier script, those are the fun sprinkles that draw (no pun intended) me into the stories.

That November 2 US general release date for Cleanin' Up The Town turned out to be legit.
