I've still got the remnants of that 2019 Slimer Slurpee from Canada in my fridge. My friend transported it from Toronto to Ohio completely in-tact. It's an excellent watermelon flavor!

It's annoying to have Walmart & Target exclusives.

Also makes it easier for the scalpers. It's horrible.

Assuming Ecto Cooler gets a miraculous resurrection, hopefully the rollout is better this time around and everyone can get some.

Hopefully 7-Eleven does something 🇺🇸 related for Afterlife.

This is so true, especially for Canadians, we never even seen the ecto coolers, and almost never get any of the toys or props, I was lucky to get 6 of the Plasma Series Figs, and we no longer have targets here in Canada, and even when we did we still did not get Target exclusives so the ecto is out of the question.

When they released that 4K Blu-ray set with all the extra scenes, it was never available here and was sold on Amazon.ca by scalpers selling for over $150+!

What do you mean we never get any toys or props? I have a bin full of real/Extreme ghostbusters toys & Matty collector stuff.

Canadian retail is just dying all over. Zellers? Gone. Future Shop? Gone. Sears? Gone. Toys R Us? Gone. It’s sad but honestly? I do all my Christmas shopping online, my movie purchases and electronics too. The only thing I don’t do online is my grocery shopping.

I think Canada got Ecto coolers back in the ‘90s? Didn’t we? At least here in Ontario. I know we for sure had Real Ghostbusters Chef Boyardee! I use to love that as a kid. But I seem to remember something called Hi-C that had Ghostbusters branding on it as a kid. But I could just be remembering the commercials since we got access to the American networks like Fox, ABC, NBC & CBS.

I was lucky enough to get that 4K GB set with all the special features like the GB2 commentary for free(long story) but when I saw the price on Amazon I nearly shit myself.

Online shopping is going to kill a lot more small business over the next few years. Once 3D printers become regular house hold devices I have no problem seeing that 3D printing will change the way we shop.

Eventually tv's will be built with them attatched. Imagine watching a toy comercial then having it print as soon as you purchase it .Maybe in five years we'll see this. Printers can now print in color, are faster and are able to use a variety of filament now.

So be honest: does anyone here really expect this movie to come out in November?

I'm honestly expecting a 2022 release now.

I think it's very likely!
The only country that matters is the US. I don't have much hope these days.
Ow sure, America is at least half of Sony's profit, but I hoped you Interpret me saying we were the slowest country that America will be done faster than us.

I'm with Alpha and davideverona, here in British Columbia we're set to have the population vaccinated by September. We're going in stages, from oldest to youngest, so I'm in the last age bracket that will be vaccinated (however I'm technically an essential worker (my job is not at all essential imo, but the province begs to differ), so I might get it a bit earlier). I just hope anti-vaxxers don't hold things up for the rest of us.

We don't get much Ghostbusters merch where I am. They probably get some in the city. If we get those Twinkies here I'm jumping on them...

Looks like AMC got saved by reddit and meme stocks.

Futures looking bright for Ghostbusters Afterlife in theaters this fall.

I doubt they're will be more stimulus checks if the "little people" are learning how to invest. It wouldn't surprise me if they place regulations on the next incoming bill. Just like they do with Social Security.

If they keep investing in AMC maybe we can get that June release back. I'd settle for July even. Now I need to go watch Trading Places.

"Get that June release back"? :whatever:

The November release date has nothing to do with whether AMC collapses or manages to claw itself back from the edge of the closure abyss, the current release date will be tied to the vaccine rollout and how much of the population has been inoculated. I wouldn't hold on to any hope of Afterlife returning to a Summer 2021 release.

Eh, a $2,000 check isn't enough to make investing worthwhile. Say you open account--you have an account fee of $25 if you don't put more than $250 in the account each quarter. It costs $10 to buy and sell a stock, or an exchange traded fund (etf). Sure, you could have invested all $2,000 in GameStop at $2.80 in April and be sitting on $230,140 today, but let's be honest: it's impossible to know if a company (which in the case of GameStop is basically a cash incinerator, btw) is going to see its stock price go up 11,507% ahead of time. So you take the $2,000, and you put it into a market index etf such as the iShares Core Moderate Allocation ETF, and put your $2,000 in that, spending $10 to purchase it (and $75 in account fees for the year, since you don't keep adding money to the account). After a year it returns $140, or $55 after fees. A piddly 2.75% return.

Now, why would anyone go through all that effort to make a lousy $55 in a year, and why would anyone waste time attempting to regulate the stimulus so that no one uses that $2000 to earn such a lousy return? Of course, if you're in, say, Canada, and you've received over $12,000 in covid stimulus checks (oh god no, not socialism!), then maybe that's a different story... However, this GameStop stuff will have no bearing on a $2,000 stimulus check.

I live in Canada and it’s true about our version of stimulus checks. We are indeed evil socialists here!

When they started it it wa so my given out to those who are making less than a certain amount or not working at all. And if you are earning even 1 dollar over that amount u do not qualify. So it was dumb because why would you choose to work and make less money when u can not work and get free cash.

I used to look up to America has being better when I was a kid but over the years I’m grateful to live in Canada after hearing how poorly they take care of their lower to middle class citizens

I'm just following the reports. This is what they say people are doing with their checks. Besides were in the middle of a pandemic, people are playing games 24/7 so it would make sense that companies like Gamestop would be doing well at the moment.

Plus a lot of stimulus check recipients are people that still live with their parents, don't have to worry about rent, or bills for that matter. Two grand isn't a small chunk of change if you don't have to worry about all that extra stuff. When you get a large group of people trying to get something to trend that's not a diffcult thing to accomplish with social media these days.

A quote from an article: TD Ameritrade said it was restricting trading in GameStop GME, +67.87% and AMC Entertainment Holdings AMC, +53.65% , along with other names.

Think the big guys are getting scared of the little guys here? I'm not an expert in Math or trading. Outside looking in it seems like there's a push to squash this thing.

The impression I've gotten is that despite the generally-captive audience of people furloughed at home, GameStope wasn't faring well until those redditers stepped in.

They weren't trying to "get something to trend", they were exposing a bunch of people trying to short the company's stock price. The reason it trended was because a bunch of amateur investors ensured a bunch of Hedge Fund managers bit off more than they could chew thinking the underhanded gamble they were playing with GameStop was a sure thing.

It definitely looks like they're scared. A group of people were able to flex a financial muscle they don't get to use very often, and it cost some greedy bastards money.
