Fellow Ghostbusters,

This past weekend the Oklahoma Ghostbusters and the Texhoma
Ghostbusters made a special trip to Dickson, Oklahoma to honor the 3
boys in the Ezell family. If you remember this family is the one that
reached out to GBfans about helping cheer up Manzie who has several
medical issues and at 6 is a huge GB fan
(http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtop ... 23&t=33667). After
making contact, we found out that his two younger brothers are also
challenged with medical issues and deserved to be included in our
efforts.
So we did the following:

Created 3 junior ghostbusters uniforms using child sized flightsuits
we found from trooper clothing (green but works), custom child size
patches for the uniforms with the kids names and child size GB patch,
Oklahoma Ghostbusters custom patch, and a black belt.

Created Junior Ghostbusters certificates, id cards with the kids
pictures and full names.

Created mold and vacuformed 1/2 scale Proton Packs. These were fitted
with kid sized backpack straps and LED lights for the cyclotron and
the power cel. The neutrino wands we made from a "Space Gun/ Sword" we
found at Big Lots.

IDW was contacted by the Texhoma Ghostbusters and they donated LOTS of
comics to the cause.

We drove towing our Ecto-1 vehicle from Mannford, OK to Dickson, OK
(about 3+ hours).

The Texhoma Ghostbusters met us at Dickson in their own Ecto-1.

We unloaded our car about 10 miles away from their house and loaded
the gear and guys into the two Ectos and headed there...

The kids had no clue we were coming and as soon as we reached the
neighborhood, we turned all our lights and sirens. In total, we had 11
ghostbusters and two supporting members (wives).

We told the kids they were inducted into the Oklahoma Ghostbusters
branch as Junior Ghostbusters and handed them the certificates.. then
the uniforms...

After giving them a "training" mission riding in Ecto-1 and Scanning
their elementary school for ghosts using my PKE meter. We returned
home (scanned the property too) and gave them their 1/2 scale
Ghostbusters Proton Packs and Wands. WE HAD A BLAST.

Part of the story was featured last night in the news at:

There are about 100+ PICTURES AT THE OKLAHOMA GHOSTBUSTERS FACEBOOK PAGE (http://www.facebook.com/oklahomaghostbusters/.

We have a youtube video of most of the event to share:

Finally I want to share the quote from Misti (the kids mom) post on Facebook:

Misti said on Sunday at 11:24pm:

It was quite an extraordinary day Egon oll buddy. The guys are still talking about it, and how jazzed those kids were.

If we did nothing but weekends like this until we were all too old to carry a proton pack anymore.........I'd be content. :-)

Well.....and maybe an occasional visit to the Zoo every year. :-)

Great weekend and such a great family too.
