Out of necessity(read: stupid idiots bombed my animation tower), so I got a new set of drives and switched to Linux Mint "Olivia".

I'm still learning my way around it, and was wondering if anyone here is running it, and figured out a way to run the game on Linux.

My son is kind going through busting withdrawals(pointing his GB backpack Proton pack at the TV screen isn't quite enough).

Many thanks in advance for any ideas, tips, and tricks.

The Titanic just arrived:
http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/thre ... guide.149/

Using this guide, I've been able to run the game ok on 17.2 with a fairly old PC (AMD dual core at 2.3 Ghz, 4GB RAM (DDR2) and HD5450 graphics). I got the best results from Wine version 1.98-Staging.

The only drawbacks are that some of the speech in the cut scenes is missing (remedied with subtitles), there is a bit of lag with my old PC (a newer one may produce better results) and I haven't been able to use a gamepad (mouse/keyboard control works fine).

I'm using the retail disc version. I have also tried the Steam version which also works but not quite as well.

That doesn't sound good to me. The game is a resource hog as it is without throwing hardware emulation into the mix.

A better option would be to run the PS2 version of the game through a PS2 emulator which would be a lot less bloated. Even then, you'd still need a fairly heavy duty PC to pull it off.
