Discuss all things Ghostbusters here, unless they would be better suited in one of the few forums below.

Would be great (but I know impossible wishful thinking of a fanboy) if someday, somewhere Universal allowed SPHE to release all of the source video from the show onto a home video release (thinking of the infomercial they showed during Louis' sales pitch, etc.)... There's even some professional shot footage that was used in the "Souvenir Videos" USF used to sell which would be great to see again.

But alas, my professional opinion tells me that day will never come...

Unless someone happens to be reading that knows a certain DVD producer has been bugging you for years to let him do a comprehensive SE release... [/end shameless plug]

I found this I thought it was pretty interesting.....

I also found this petition to get GB Spooktacular back on, I don't think it will do any good, but it cool to know people are still caring about the show....

I also didn't realize GB fans has the Actual Spooktacular handbook, script, and concept art.

Here is a link for an idea of a New GB Ride at universal on Facebook. It's just and idea, a cool one I might add, but someone commented that Universal bought back the rights from sony recently. Is this true?

Here is the link... The comment about Universal Buying the rights is in the comments section.

As for that buying the rights story, that's actually true. Kind of.

Up until a few months ago, Universal Studios Florida had Ghostbusters on their copyright page. Since all the other copyrights listed were just the rides and shows, it makes sense that they might be putting in a ride. As that little rumor got around, the copyright listing mysteriously disappeared. Draw your own conclusions.

This guy I know, I recorded in the past is gonna give me and my family Universal tickets for free! I'm so excited. He is one of the props builder at universal, but he was there way after GB spooktacular was there. I asked him if anything was in a warehouse somewhere and he said when a ride, or show ends, they either sell it or throw it away. I was hoping when I went I could get some pics of some old stuff in a warehouse somewhere, but sadly there is nothing left. So he says.

This is a bit late, but I've found that Universal still has at least one prop from the show...

If you're curious, that was taken at last year's Halloween Horror Nights. The section of the park was themed to a prop warehouse and they had a lot of old props from defunct rides. As far as I know, that's the only Ghostbusters object there.

That's kinda depressing...great find, though!

When I worked at Universal as a sign maker back in 04-06, there were still some rubber packs degrading in the main prop warehouse off of Turkey Lake Rd. They were a rubber shell, filled with expanding foam, and placed on a mobo. They had been left in the back Ecto 1 that had driven around the park for years, and had severe sunrot. Dried, cracking, didn't smell too good. No throwers on them either.

We were at USF this June (2011) and a park staffer walked over to us as we were taking pics at the old firehouse entrance (Still a tradition for us, even if it does have a rollercoaster track running through the front window now :-x ). Anyway, he stopped and was talking with us for a bit and said that he didn't even know that there had been a GB show there until a few weeks previous when he was going through one of the storage areas on site and saw a bunch of props that one of the other guys told him were from the old GB show.

So, FWIW, it sounds like some of it might still be there. :whatever: He wasn't a fan, so he couldn't tell us what kind of stuff it was.
